Félix Máximo López

About Félix Máximo López

Félix Máximo López (born 1742, died 1821) was a Spanish keyboard player, composer, and teacher active in Madrid during the later eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, a period of stylistic transition from the late Baroque to early Classicism in Iberian music. He belonged to the professional musical milieu of the Spanish capital rather than to a monastic or provincial tradition, and his career unfolded largely within the royal and urban musical institutions that shaped Madrid’s keyboard culture in the decades after Domenico Scarlatti.
