児玉好雄

Yoshio Kodama (January 28, 1909 – October 20, 1986) was a Japanese singer and educator. He was born on January 28, 1909 (Meiji 42) in Mukaiyo, Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture (present-day Mukaiyo-shinmachi, Minami Ward, Hiroshima City) . He dropped out of Hiroshima Prefectural Hiroshima First Junior High School (now Hiroshima Kokutaiji High School) after one year, and at the age of 15 in 1924 (Taisho 13), he went to the United States to study music at the University of the Pacific, where he lived for seven years.
