Alpana Banerjee

Alpana Mukherjee née Banerjee (Bengali: আলী আকবর খাঁ) (March 14, 1934 – July 24, 2009) was a successful Bengali singer during the late 1940s and 1950s and onwards. Her most noted songs are 'Hatti Matim Tim','Chotto Pakhi Chandana'. '[1] and 'Ami Alpana Enke Jai'[2]. Childhood and training At the age of 13, she was discovered by close friends of her father's (Gauri Prasanna Majumder and Rabin Chatterjee) and became very popular soon after.
