About Özdal Orhon
Özdal Orhon (1941-1986) was a Turkish singer, specialising in Turkish classical music, but with a repertoire extending well beyond that genre. Orhon, née Özdal Kale, was born in Istanbul on 25th December 1941. Her musical ability was spotted at primary school, and at the age of eleven she joined Radife Ertenhe's musical ensemble, with which she received her first formal musical training. As a result of her clear talent, at the age of thirteen she left school for the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory
