Margarita María de Santa Teresita Vargas Gaviria (Medellín, October 3, 1960) is a Colombian singer, nationalized Mexican; of cumbia, bachata, boleros, vallenato and tropical music known artistically as Margarita La Diosa de la Cumbia. She has been awarded by the Colombian Senate with the Order of Knight in 2012 for her artistic work and work to spread Colombian culture abroad, mainly in Mexico.
