About Gentleman Surfer
[Sacramento, CA] Gentleman Surfer began as the solo project of drummer Jon Bafus in 2006. The first album, 2011's Bountiful Ore, was recorded by Andy Morin of Death Grips and features Jon on all instruments. Leading up to the release, Barry McDaniel Swars (guitar) and Drew Walker (bass) were enlisted to perform the songs live. The project soon after became more of a group effort, with song writing contributions from each member. In late 2012, Zack Bissell joined on keyboards.
