Fidan Qasımova

Fidan Akram gizi Gasimova (also spelled Fidan Gasimova and Fidan Qasimova; Azerbaijani: Fidan Əkrəm qızı Qasımova), born June 17, 1947 in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR, is an Azerbaijani operatic soprano who was named a People's Artist of the USSR in 1988. She gives many concerts abroad to promote Azerbaijan music and has been the first Azerbaijani woman singer to be awarded the title of Laureate of International contests. Gasimova’s parents, Akram Gasimov and Tukezban Gasimova, were lovers of music.
