Formed in 1969 by the legendary Cem Karaca and Serhan Karabay, Kardaşlar served as the high-voltage engine room for the Anatolian Rock movement, masterfully blending Western psychedelic grit with the soulful, poetic roots of Turkish folk. More than just a standalone group, they were a sophisticated creative crucible that provided the instrumental backbone for titans like Karaca and Ersen Dinleten, helping to evolve Turkish music from simple pop covers into a profound, socially conscious fusion of the electric and the ancient.
