David Appelbaum

David Appelbaum was born September 9th, 1984 in Seattle, Washington. He began studying piano at age 10 under the instruction of Sue Williamson. David played in the school jazz band but primarily focused on pursuing music outside of academic settings, and sought out to play with duos, trios, and quartets that played original music with intricate compositions and room for improvisation. David enrolled in Wesleyan University in 2003, where he studied with Anthony Braxton, Jay Hoggard, Neely Bruce, Yonathan Malin, Eric Charry, and Fred Simmons.
