About Bruce Soord

Bruce Soord is an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer, known for being the founder and frontman of the progressive rock band the Pineapple Thief. The project, initially named Pineapple Thief, after a dialogue in the movie Eve's Bayou, began as an outlet for Soord's music in 1999. Its debut album, Abducting the Unicorn, was released by Cyclops Records in 1999 and followed in 2002 by 137. After issuing a third album under the moniker, titled Variations on a Dream, Soord formed a band and added "The" to its name, to differentiate its initials PT from Porcupine Tree, another English progressive rock band. As of June 2024, the group have released 16 studio albums, 6 EPs, and several live and compilation albums. In 2013, Soord released an album with Swedish musician Jonas Renkse, titled Wisdom of Crowds. In 2015, he issued his first solo, self-titled record. This was followed by All This Will Be Yours in 2019 and Luminescence in 2023.
