About Kato Hafez
Mohamed 'Kato' Hafez is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist and singer from ِAlexandria, Egypt and a RoundGlass Music Awards 2018 winner for the Best Rock Song. While his music is mainly western-inspired, he sings in Arabic in the Egyptian dialect. Kato recorded, played, composed, arranged, sang and produced his 2015 self-titled EP. His lyrics are usually about personal problems he has faced in his life, as well as tackling various negative values in the Egyptian and Middle Eastern societies.
