About Dan Nicholls
"I am a London-based keyboardist, reeds player, composer and producer, also working with video and animation.
My music is inspired by prevalent issues: exploring environment, experience and identity; as well as the use of various forms of media for political and social influence.
I have studied Indian classical musics, West African musics, worked with dance and produced projects with film and visual art. I'm a member of London's Loop Collective and editor and designer of Green Chimneys. In 2013/14 I will be working as a Jerwood Foundation Jazzlines Fellow – conducting research in West Africa and working on designing a new hybrid instrument."
