The Royal Irish Regiment is an infantry regiment of the British Army, recruiting soldiers from both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. It is formed from amalgamations of earlier regiments, such as the Inniskilling Fusiliers, the Royal Irish Fusiliers and, more recently, the Royal Irish Rangers.
