Larry Lovestein & The Velvet Revival

Larry Lovestein & The Velvet Revival is an imaginary jazz band created by rapper Mac Miller to release his jazz EP You in late 2012, following the founding of his independent label REMember Music. The band is fronted by Mac as his jazz persona, Larry Lovestein. During the prolific “Sanctuary” era of his music (late 2012–2015), Mac had begun exploring the metaphysical concept of identity, creating a handful of alter-egos to experiment with genres outside of traditional rap.
