Hardly Dangerous (previously called Rocket Queen) began in 1986 by seasoned guitar player Lisa Rae Black, of the Pandoras, (second version) and Feline, and Tomi Rae Hynie later Tomi Rae (Brown) who with her powerful Janis Joplin like vocals quickly made a name for them selves in the late 1980's hair metal Sunset Strip era in Los Angeles, California. Sheri Kaplan of The Pandoras, (first version) was brought in to replace drummer Athena Lee, sister of Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee
