Sa'id Hormozi

Sa'id Hormozi (1897-1976) the prominent Iranian musician, the great radif master and virtuoso tar and setar player, the son of Mirza Hoseyn Khan Seqat-ol-Saltaneh, was born in Sangalaj quarter of Tehran. He showed his interest in music from an early age and grasped playing music despite the objections made by his family. He first began to play and practice music by himself and from 16 he learned tar from his brother Abolfatah Mirza who was a direct pupil of Aqa Hossein Qoli.
