The London Gabrieli Brass Ensemble

About The London Gabrieli Brass Ensemble

Britain's oldest brass group, co-founded in 1963 by trombonists David Biddulph, Peter Harvey, Richard Hill and John Simcock. Between 1975 and 1984, stewardship of the ensemble passed to Christopher Larkin and Crispian Steele-Perkins. William Houghton succeeded Crispian as leader in 1984. The abbreviated name of "The Gabrieli Brass" was used for some popular/easy listening releases in the 1960s and early 1970s.
