About Səxavət Məmmədov
Sekhavet Mammadov (Azerbaijani: Səxavət Əmirxan oğlu Məmmədov; born 10 October 1953, Abdal-Gulably, Ağdam, died 30 September 1991, Baku) was an Azerbaijani mugam singer. His gentle singing style of tasnifs and folk songs made him a favorite among the people. He was the older brother of Fehruz Sekhavet (Fehruz Səxavət). He was one of worthy continuers of the school of Karabakh Mugam performance. He came to the art in his early years, beginning his professional career in 1970.
