About Antonio de Santa Cruz
Antonio de Santa Cruz was a Spanish guitarist, vihuelist and composer active around 1700. He is the author of Libro donde se verán pazacalles de los ocho tonos i de los trasportados, written around that date. The book is written for biguela hordinaria according to its opening page, but it is clear that it is a five-course instrument tuned like the guitar of the moment. Contains traditional Spanish dances, with notated ornaments (trills, ligatures, vibrato).
