Ritske Numan

Ritske Numan was born on October 19th 1921 in Drachten, a town in the Dutch province Fryslân. Although his career as a singer didn't last long, he was 'world famous' in Fryslân. His best-known songs are “Dat alles is Fryslân foar my” (All this is Fryslân to me), “It Aldershûs” (Home), “Memmeleafde” (Mother's love), “Om útens” (Abroad). Numan followed singing lessons at the academy of music in Utrecht and also sang classical works.
