Chene Noir

Chêne Noir ./ biography / *Théâtre du Chêne Noir d'Avignon* / Theater group founded in the late 1960's by Gérard Gelas. In the early 1970's, they also played music. It is also the name of their theater in a disused church in the town of Avignon where theater productions and musical performances from other artists have been presented. As you might guess out of this band’s name, Théâtre du Chêne Noir d’Avignon, Chêne Noir was a troupe of music artists and stars from the town of Avignon in southeast France.
