About Women's Choir of Sofia
The Women’s Choir of Sofia is a group of professional singers which has existed for more than 35 years, directed since 1980 by Zdravko Mihaylov. It is thanks to this conductor that its repertoire has expanded to include the whole range of traditional Bulgarian music composed with modern harmony and polyphony, or based on themes taken from folk songs. The women possess a particular vocal technique, which uses the natural voice production supported by the neck muscles and not by the diaphragm.
