Mid 2007, Nick Taylor (saxophones) had an urge to perform. A few rehearsals with some uni mates and a demo recording later they had secured their first residency at Melbourne's renowned funk club, The Purple Emerald. With a beginning influence in jazz with a funk edge, the group began to move towards a heavier funk feel, losing the jazz and instead getting lost in deep grooves. Almost 2 years on, a few line up AND name changes,the group is now known as Mega Funk, Melbourne's funk/fusion/groove outfit.
