Maruja Hinestrosa

Maruja Hinestrosa Eraso (San Juan de Pasto, November 16, 1914 - January 9, 2002) was a Colombian composer noted for both academic and popular works, mainly in piano format (solo) or with vocal parts accompanied by piano. Her works have been performed by notable Colombian and international artists and orchestras. She is best remembered for authoring the highly popular pasillo 'El cafetero', written around 1928 and 1929. In commemoration of the first centenary of his birth
