“We Are Young” was the lead single from fun.’s second album "Some Nights". It hit #1 on the Hot 100 for 6 straight weeks (from March 17 to April 21, 2012). Lyrically, the song describes a wild night out and the necessity for good friends to be there for you – even at your worst and completely drunk. The song was released in the fall of 2011, but a quick cover of it by Glee in December brought it to the attention of a larger audience and kick-started the song’s ultimate success. .
