Cruising down the road in my V8
When I look at my watch, man I'm running late
I put the pedal down man I'm really flying
But what should I see at the drive-in dine
A pretty little thing gave a wink and a smile

So I pulled in, I said what's your name
She pops her bubble gum and says I'm Mary Jane
I said listen MJ, I'mma treat you right
I'm gonna take you to a rock n' roll show tonight
She said is that so and I say yes ma'am
Oh did I forget to mention that I'm in the band
Well we get to the club at a half past nine
With Mary Jane looking real real fine
I opened the door and everyone turned to see
Well who's that little lady standing next to me
I take her under my arm and proceed to the stage
And wap! Something's slapping me in the face
Pale as a ghost and my mouth open wide
With my head on a swivel looking side to side
Mary Jane says well who's this
She said for your information my name is Suzie Lee Smith
To my right Mary Jane to my left Suzie Lee
I though oh lordy lordy have mercy on me
Well Suzie Lee had caused quite a scene
And before I knew it all eyes were on me
I said listen baby this ain't how it looks
And I proceeded to pull out every line in the book
I could tell from her face she couldn't take anymore
So I started out running, heading for the back door
Well I guess that's just how the story goes
When you bring two women to the same damn show
I learned my lesson yes I learned it good
And the moral of the story is understood
If you're going to a rock n' roll show
Bring your Mary Jane and leave your Suzie Lee at home
