WHAT LIVING IS ALL ABOUT

[00:12.43] Several years ago I came out of church one Sunday morning
[00:15.52] Met an airline pilot
[00:18.15] He asked me a very simple question
[00:19.66] He said "what are you really doing here"
[00:22.38] I thought for a minute and I said
[00:23.70] "Well we've got small children
[00:25.79] And we think it's important
[00:27.22] That they be in Sunday school"
[00:29.53] He said
[00:30.19] "if there's something here for them
[00:31.98] Don't you think there might be something here for you"
[00:34.60] How dare this guy challenge me on what I was doing every morning
[00:38.10] But I went home
[00:39.77] And after the anger subsided
[00:42.13] I became more rational
[00:44.57] And if I was honest with you tonight
[00:46.22] I'm telling you I set out to prove that there was no God
[00:48.95] So that I could go to golf course on Sunday morning
[00:51.35] And not have my conscience bother me
[00:54.28] But one day in frustration driving down I-95 going to work
[00:59.27] I just looked up and said
[01:00.46] "God I confess that I'm a sinner
[01:02.58] If that's what selfishness is
[01:03.67] Then I'm a sinner"
[01:05.03] And you know what happened nothing
[01:08.02] I didn't see any angels
[01:09.86] I didn't hear the heavenly choir
[01:12.14] I didn't have any sense of peace
[01:14.28] I just putted on down the road went to work
[01:17.55] Got home that night
[01:18.99] I almost forgot about the incident
[01:21.62] And I picked up my Bible
[01:23.08] See I'm still trying to prove there's no God
[01:25.14] And somebody messed with my book
[01:28.69] Somebody messed with my book
[01:30.05] I understood things that I didn't understand the night before
[01:33.74] That's right
[01:34.98] That's right
[01:37.07] It says in the 4th chapter of 2 Corinthians
[01:39.66] But there is a vail over the eyes of the unbeliever
[01:43.27] That they cannot discern the truth
[01:44.97] But it says in the 3rd chapter
[01:47.05] When you turn in repentance that vail is lifted
[01:50.67] And that vail was lifted
[01:52.93] And I became a new creature in Christ Jesus
[01:55.99] And you bet there was a change in my life
[01:58.23] A change in my value system
[02:00.36] A change in my understanding
[02:02.05] And certainly a change in my concept of this person in Christ
[02:07.78] Have you had your vail lifted tonight?
[02:10.34] Let me tell you the great tragedy of modern America
[02:13.32] The great tragedy is that many of us
[02:16.54] Have never taken the time to find out what living is all about
[02:20.81] To find out what living's all about
[02:23.38] And the answer may be what I consider
[02:27.27] To be the most important question in life
[02:29.32] Is there a God
[02:31.44] And if there is
[02:33.52] What must I do to be related to him
[02:37.02] Appreciate the opportunity to share
