The Darkest Part (feat. Raekwon and Kid Sister) Lyrics

[00:06.04] Shine the light into the darkest part of me
[00:11.50] All around you, find the one thing they can't see
[00:15.41] Though they say
[00:18.09] They'll take your pain
[00:20.61] Don't give it away, oh, oh
[00:25.92] Yo, I'm like Thelonious at the underground piano
[00:29.70] Dressed in camo, the grenades, guns, and ammo
[00:32.63] Death to Sambo, send him a bouquet, and a candle
[00:35.25] I came to take back that other two-fifths of a man, so
[00:38.21] From a silhouette standin' in the aperture
[00:41.22] To a figurehead standin' in the path of a killer
[00:43.92] Young gorilla just scramblin' for Africa
[00:46.45] Crept and will accept nothing but a massacre
[00:49.12] Premonition of intuition is a bitch
[00:51.66] Got a message from the heavens, all it said is to be this
[00:54.80] Keep it brief like a elevator pitch
[00:57.19] Or delegate a switch 'cause the spirit is a snitch
[00:59.55] In America, the rich love to wear it on their wrist
[01:02.68] They call the shots, they don't wear it on they hip
[01:05.09] Jinglin' of the chains, I can still hear it on the ship
[01:07.85] One hand loads the clip, feel the rubber on the grip
[01:10.75] Me and my reflection sendin' one another on a trip
[01:13.14] I'm under 21 and bent, now you know what punishment, listen
[01:16.54] It ain't a easy odyssey for you to follow me
[01:19.14] We do kinesiology with no apologies
[01:22.28] Shine the light into the darkest part of me
[01:27.94] All around you, find the one thing they can't see
[01:31.91] Though they say
[01:34.27] They'll take your pain
[01:37.12] Don't give it away (yo)
[01:38.42] The deeper the breath, the louder the scream (oh, oh)
[01:40.54] I cower between the two monsters out of my dream
[01:43.16] A Cadillac, a Limousine, an anti-nigga machine
[01:45.97] And if I wake up alive, I bet they woke up clean
[01:48.89] Umpteen times, the warning signs went unseen
[01:51.48] To me, they done something, they tried to clip my wings
[01:54.12] But not before I understood how any caged bird sings
[01:56.72] The soul was something before we became earthlings
[01:59.58] Freedom is better than heroin, morphine, or methadone
[02:02.98] They force-feed their fears into our flesh and bone
[02:05.60] Inside of my confessional, I decompress alone
[02:08.40] I'm more skeptical of followin' the metronome
[02:11.06] I guess technically, I'm on another echelon
[02:13.73] It just gets to me the way they lay the pressure on
[02:16.56] It ain't a easy odyssey for you to follow me
[02:19.22] We do kinesiology with no apologies
[02:22.35] Shine the light into the darkest part of me (right, right, right)
[02:27.85] All around you, find the one thing they can't see (start the wave, God)
[02:32.08] Though they say (talk your talk)
[02:34.37] They'll take your pain (nigga, let's go, nigga, how that shit go?)
[02:37.96] Boy grown, hands like Roy Jones
[02:40.07] King Tut bracelet on, encrusted, flooded in stones, bro
[02:43.67] Hardest and the sharpest
[02:45.02] Merge like three-bedroom apartments
[02:47.11] Pick one room, they all boom, let me start this
[02:49.75] My art retarded, kids, the arsonist and ostrich
[02:52.34] The moon is the part, we been partners, shit
[02:54.78] Say no other, we the Jungle Brothers out in Kenya
[02:57.55] How we did in December, loadin' them cartridges
[02:59.99] The lines is like nines, P8 between babies
[03:02.72] Word to mama, poor llamas, paper we seein' crazy
[03:05.49] Louis Rich, he the drummer
[03:07.03] Thoughts from the black boy, boy, mama call ya
[03:10.18] See, the numbers stay maxin' and relaxin'
[03:11.85] Chump jewelry in 2020, seven Hummers pursuing
[03:15.43] I seen your stunters gettin' busy on the bridge
[03:17.47] Headed out, fleein' your dope dealer
[03:19.87] Stop wasting time, take some shine
[03:21.65] Shine the light into the darkest part of me
[03:26.86] All around you, find the one thing they can't see
[03:31.66] Though they say
[03:34.15] They'll take your pain
[03:36.17] Don't give it away, oh, oh
[03:40.63]
