"The perspective is sort of open to interpretation. I think when I was writing it I was predominantly singing those lyrics to myself. My actual feeling was like, What am I doing? What am I doing singing about all this self-involved stuff about my girlfriend and about my sex life when there’s all this shit happening in the world? On one hand, why am I bothering to sing about this? And then on the other hand, it’s like, the Internet is always going to question you about that stuff anyway. .
