About Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy
Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy" is the fourth single ("Queen's First EP") and eighth track on the British rock group Queen's 1976 album A Day at the Races, written by Freddie Mercury. It was one of several British music hall-inspired songs written by both Mercury and Brian May that appeared on other Queen albums from the 1970s. The song starts with a piano and vocal introduction by Mercury, then continues, with the bass and drums adding on, at the start of the chorus. .
Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy Lyrics
[00:00.59] I can dim the lights and sing you songs full of sad things
[00:05.53] We can do the tango just for two
[00:10.67] I can serenade and gently play on your heart strings
[00:16.06] Be your Valentino just for you
[00:21.15] Ooh, love, ooh, loverboy
[00:27.53] What're you doin' tonight, hey, boy?
[00:30.95] Set my alarm, turn on my charm
[00:33.44] That's because I'm a good old-fashioned loverboy
[00:38.70] Ooh, let me feel your heartbeat (Grow faster, faster)
[00:43.86] Ooh, ooh, can you feel my love heat?
[00:47.87] Come on and sit on my hot-seat of love
[00:50.51] And tell me how do you feel right after all
[00:54.48] I'd like for you and I to go romancing
[00:58.75] Say the word, your wish is my command
[01:03.81] Ooh, love, ooh, loverboy
[01:10.13] What're you doin' tonight, hey, boy?
[01:13.41] Write my letter
[01:14.77] Feel much better
[01:16.09] And use my fancy patter on the telephone
[01:21.03]
[01:23.59] When I'm not with you
[01:26.09] Think of you always
[01:28.52] (I miss those long hot summer nights) I miss you
[01:33.83] When I'm not with you
[01:36.18] Think of me always
[01:38.85] Love you, love you
[01:43.74] Hey, boy, where do you get it from?
[01:46.40] Hey, boy, where did you go?
[01:48.49] I learned my passion
[01:49.72] In the good old-fashioned
[01:51.18] School of loverboys
[01:54.42]
[02:14.65] Dining at the Ritz we'll meet at nine precisely (One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine o'clock)
[02:19.52] I will pay the bill, you taste the wine
[02:24.41] Driving back in style in my saloon will do quite nicely
[02:29.02] Just take me back to yours that will be fine (Come on and get it)
[02:34.19] Ooh, love (There he goes again)
[02:36.87] (He's my good old fashioned loverboy) Ooh, loverboy
[02:40.45] What're you doin' tonight, hey, boy?
[02:43.64] Everything's all right
[02:44.81] Just hold on tight
[02:46.15] That's because I'm a good old-fashioned (fashioned) loverboy
[02:49.82]
[00:05.53] We can do the tango just for two
