[00:15.32] And you got, it-it's just this whole mixing pot
[00:18.09] Nothing has brought more races and more people
[00:22.17] From all different walks of life together than hip-hop
[00:25.65] No music has done that
[00:28.34] I don't think anything has done that as much as hip-hop has
[00:32.61] So, in the same token
[00:36.05] I can understand the frustration being that, you know
[00:41.10] Damn near every form of, of music, period, was created by black people
[00:46.48] So, you got Chuck Berry, you got Rosetta Tharpe
[00:53.76] And rock n' roll is starting to get some attention, but then along comes Elvis
[00:59.68] And people are acting like, "Oh my God, I've never seen this before"
[01:04.75] You've seen it before, but you might not have seen a white person do it to this level
[01:10.78] So now, he sells the most records and people are callin' him the king of rock n' roll, right?
[01:16.12] But on the flip side of the coin
[01:20.55] If I'm a black kid, growin' up in, let's say the '60s, '70s, '80s, whatever, right
[01:27.36] And I'm lookin' on TV and nobody looks like me
[01:31.01] And it's very stereotypical
[01:33.45] And I'm lookin' at fuckin', I'm lookin' at toys
[01:36.95] And they're, and everything is white
[01:38.93] The fuckin' action figures are all white
[01:40.58] The, the fuckin' superheroes are all white
[01:44.24] Like, maybe there's one or two, uh, black superheroes mixed in there with mostly white
[01:49.49] I don't know how I'd grow up and not have a chip on my shoulder
[01:55.12] On the other flip side of that coin
[01:59.34] We don't get to choose our parents, we don't get to choose what color we're born
[02:04.18] It's more about, at that point, it becomes
[02:07.15] You're born here, you are, you're what color you are, you're what nationality you are
[02:09.13] And then it's what you do with it, right
