Concrete Jungle Lyrics
Check it out
So many concrete buildings
And so many sirens from so many drug dealings
Killings occurring at daylight
You know it seem like some might someday will see the light
The streets are still filled with derelicts, schizophrenics
Screaming out just for the hell of it
This story I'm painting may be grim
But then your chances of surviving are slim
'Cause in the streets the people compete for survival
Every day is a battle that'll make a man liable
To steal and commit rape, perjury or burglary
And for the things I possess he might murder me
For money, is it funny you be meeting a fast death?
And mugged by a thug after breathing your last breath
Never underestimate how far will one go
What do you expect? I'm living in a concrete jungle
You've got the feeling
I'm gonna make it alright
You've got the feeling
I'm gonna make it alright
Sometimes it's a blessing when a blind man can't see
His situations of poverty
Families crammed in abandoned buildings
Freeways drowned in the sounds of children
Cement grass, kids playing in glass
Cars pass by fast, bums harass for cash
On the subtrain, graffiti your name
With nothing to take in vain but the city pain
In I came with one aim, so I strained the game
My dreams, but so it seems, ain't nothing changed
Still there's Jack on the hill with Jill
No time to chill, the man's got a drug deal
Down for his duck as if fucking was in the wind
Went to the corner where Jack Horner to make it sin
And then there's Jill, tumbled on the wrong deal
With nothing to gain but the pain from a sex appeal
Another victim, thirteen years old
Who gives a damn that the girl just sold her soul?
To a glass pipe, did it last night
Trying to indulge in the glamors of a fast life
She should have took a warm mule and the forty acres
But she wanted money fast, cars and the skyscrapers
But that's reality, a street mentality
Giving what's gold in exchange for her morality
I'm forced to wonder how far will one go
But what do you expect? I'm living in a concrete jungle
You've got the feeling
I'm gonna make it alright
You've got the feeling
I'm gonna make it alright
It's like a jungle sometimes
It's like a jungle sometimes
Living in the concrete
It's like a jungle sometimes
It's like a jungle sometimes
Living in the concrete
It's like a jungle sometimes
It's like a jungle sometimes
Living in the concrete
It's like a jungle sometimes
It's like a jungle sometimes
Jungle
Enemies living in the concrete
They invade the paradise, beware of the parasites
Come in all shapes, forms, dressed in uniforms
Promising dreams about as real as a unicorn
A preacher says he's gonna take you to the promised land
But you gotta pay the cost into his open hands
Another man says he's looking in your best interest
He's just a politician seeking position
Wolves dressed up in sheep's clothing
And we're shaking these men hands without even knowing
So I stop to look past the faces of evil
Thinking if I get by, how can I free the people?
I teach them to nourish one thought, one entity
Strive for divinity and bring you serenity
And never underestimate how far will one go
And know what to expect when you're living in a concrete jungle
You've got the feeling
I'm gonna make it alright
You've got the feeling
I'm gonna make it alright
You've got the feeling
I'm gonna make it alright
You've got the feeling
