About Under the Bridge
"Under the Bridge" is a song by the American alternative rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on March 10, 1992 as the second single from the group's fifth studio album Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Vocalist Anthony Kiedis wrote the lyrics to express his feelings of loneliness and despondency and to reflect on narcotics and their impact on his life. During rehearsal in April 1991, Kiedis had felt distanced from bandmates Flea and Frusciante. His feeling of loneliness reminded him of his relationship with his former girlfriend .
Under the Bridge Lyrics
[00:28.42] Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner
[00:34.67] Sometimes I feel like my only friend
[00:39.63] Is the city I live in, the city of angels
[00:46.04] Lonely as I am, together we cry
[00:52.85]
[00:57.54] I drive on her streets 'cause she's my companion
[01:03.53] I walk through her hills 'cause she knows who I am
[01:09.19] She sees my good deeds and she kisses me windy
[01:15.20] Well, I never worry, now that is a lie
[01:21.86]
[01:26.69] I don't ever want to feel like I did that day
[01:32.36] Take me to the place I love, take me all the way
[01:37.97] I don't ever want to feel like I did that day
[01:43.64] Take me to the place I love, take me all the way
[01:50.34] Yeah, yeah, yeah
[01:55.72]
[02:00.45] It's hard to believe that there's nobody out there
[02:06.33] It's hard to believe that I'm all alone
[02:11.88] At least I have her love, the city she loves me
[02:17.89] Lonely as I am, together we cry
[02:24.35]
[02:29.11] And I don't ever want to feel like I did that day
[02:34.75] Take me to the place I love, take me all the way
[02:40.31] Well, I don't ever want to feel like I did that day
[02:46.08] Take me to the place I love, take me all the way
[02:51.77] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
[02:57.27] Oh, no, no, no, yeah, yeah
[03:02.87] Love me, I said yeah, yeah
[03:10.13] One time
[03:13.91] (Under the bridge downtown)
[03:17.04] Is where I drew some blood
[03:19.30] (Under the bridge downtown)
[03:22.52] I could not get enough
[03:24.73] (Under the bridge downtown)
[03:27.84] Forgot about my love
[03:30.14] (Under the bridge downtown)
[03:33.32] I gave my life away
[03:35.67] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (ooh)
[03:41.08] Oh, no, no, no, yeah, yeah
[03:48.36] I said oh, yeah, yeah
[03:53.49] Where I'll stay (ooh)
[03:55.29]
