About BLACKBIIRD

"BLACKBIIRD" is the second track on Beyoncé's eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter. It was originally written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon for the double album The Beatles, also referred to colloquially as the White Album (1968). "I was sitting around with my acoustic guitar and I'd heard about the civil rights troubles that were happening in the '60s in Alabama, Mississippi, Little Rock in particular, I just thought it would be really good if I could write something that if it ever reached any of the people going through those problems .

BLACKBIIRD Lyrics

[00:04.41] Blackbird singing in the dead of night
[00:08.87] Take these broken wings and learn to fly
[00:14.15] All your life
[00:17.86] You were only waiting for this moment to arise
[00:23.12] (You were only waiting for this moment to arise)
[00:28.35] Blackbird singing in the dead of night (dead of night, night)
[00:32.53] Take these sunken eyes and learn to see (learn to see all your life)
[00:37.73] All your life (all your life)
[00:41.94] You were only waiting for this moment to be free
[00:46.80] Blackbird fly (blackbird, blackbird, fly, fly, fly, fly)
[00:51.70] Blackbird fly (blackbird, blackbird, fly, fly, fly, fly)
[00:56.21] Into the light of a dark, black night
[01:02.09]
[01:07.53] Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
[01:16.84] Blackbird fly (fly, fly)
[01:21.59] Blackbird fly (fly)
[01:26.28] Into the light of a dark, black night
[01:33.17] Blackbird singing in the dead of night
[01:37.65] Take these broken wings and learn to fly (learn to fly, learn to fly)
[01:42.60] All your life
[01:46.53] You were only waiting for this moment to arise
