MLK Interlude

[00:02.61] That if you have never found something
[00:06.77] So dear and so precious to you
[00:09.41] That you will die for it, then you aren't fit to live

[00:15.45] You may be 38 years old as I happen to be
[00:21.44] And one day some great opportunity stands before you
[00:26.25] And calls upon you to stand up for some great principle
[00:30.57] Some great issue, some great cause
[00:36.07] And you refuse to do it because you are afraid
[00:43.94] You refuse to do it because you wanna live longer
[00:49.87] You're afraid that you will lose your job
[00:52.57] Or you're afraid that you will be criticized
[00:55.58] Or that you will lose your popularity
[00:58.43] Or you're afraid that somebody will stab you
[01:01.53] Or shoot at you or bomb your house
[01:04.58] And so you refuse to take the stand
[01:08.06] Well, you may go on and live until you are 90
[01:14.43] But you're just as dead at 38 as you would be at 90
[01:21.07] And the cessation of breathing in your life is
[01:25.02] But the belated announcement of an earlier death of the spirit
[01:28.10]
[01:30.26] You died when you refused to stand up for right
[01:35.20] You died when you refused to stand up for truth
[01:39.87] You died when you refused to stand up for justice
[01:41.12]
