Town Called Malice Lyrics

[00:14.37] Better stop dreaming of the quiet life
[00:16.12] 'Cause it's the one we'll never know
[00:18.86] And quit running for that runaway bus
[00:20.68] 'Cause those rosy days are few
[00:22.49] And stop apologizing for the things you've never done
[00:27.87] 'Cause time is short and life is cruel but it's up to us to change
[00:32.30] This town called Malice
[00:36.43]
[00:42.23] Rows and rows of disused milk floats
[00:44.91] Stand dying in the dairy yard
[00:46.71] And a hundred lonely housewives clutch empty milk
[00:49.48] Bottles to their hearts
[00:51.30] Hanging out their old love letters on the line to dry
[00:55.85] It's enough to make you stop believing when tears come fast and furious
[01:00.35] In a town called Malice, yeah
[01:04.93]
[01:20.25] Struggle after struggle, year after year
[01:24.75] The atmosphere's a fine blend of ice I'm almost stone cold dead
[01:28.38] In a town called Malice, ooh yeah
[01:33.57]
[01:39.22] A whole street's belief in Sunday's roast beef
[01:42.82] Gets dashed against the Co-op
[01:48.23] To either cut down on beer or the kids new gear
[01:50.98] It's a big decision in a town called Malice, ooh yeah
[01:57.68]
[02:09.83] The ghost of a steam train echoes down my track
[02:14.30] It's at the moment bound for nowhere just going round and round
[02:18.82] Playground kids and creaking swings
[02:21.53] Lost laughter in the breeze
[02:23.38] Could go on for hours and I probably will
[02:26.07] But I'd sooner put some joy back in this town called Malice, yeah ooh
[02:30.99]
[02:36.85] In this town called Malice, yeah
[02:41.40] In this town called Malice, ooh yeah
[02:44.64]
