About Farmhouse

Written by writer Tom Marshall and Phish's frontman Trey Anastasio, Farmhouse derives from a weekend trip that the pair took together in April of 1997. It takes inspiration from their witnessing of aurora borealis (which had been generated from a geomagnetic storm induced by a solar flare), and the farmhouse they stayed in. Lyrics from the song include words that were taken from their host's introduction "note", per Anastasio: "I started strumming and Tom started singing .
