In the evening at the dresser
To plan the coming day
The business of being human
And the games that people play
Some folks have a charm
For the magic that they need
Big days of lucky blue pair of socks
Were worn upon her feet

So early in the morning
Fumbling through the dark
She dons her clothes and coffee
Ready to make a mark
Stepping high and liable
Spoiling for a fight
Some hands will be found cold today
Her stockings pulled up tight

The chosen from time to time will fall
Some are bound to be left behind
Kites caught in a power line
The shiny things we find may tell a tale

They never saw her coming
They never would believe
This innocent magician
Has got nothing up her sleeve
She overstepped the boundaries
Of those opposed to love
Radiating power and grace
From below and from above
