TESTIMONY

[00:10.41] The Bible says there's power in testimony
[00:14.05] I grew up in a Christian family, I didn't miss a Sunday or a Wednesday
[00:20.08] My mom was in the worship team
[00:22.55] And um, yeah I started to
[00:28.10] Started to kind of live this secret life, started to give in to sin
[00:32.80] Sometime around Junior High, and just started to get, I don’t know, really curious about
[00:36.73] Like all the things that weren't in this, you know, Christian church bubble
[00:42.35] So, I went out to explore and, um
[00:47.61] Really watered a seed of sin that grew and grew and grew and
[00:52.06] Long story short, by the time I got into my frеshman year of college
[00:56.07] I uh, I, I rеmember I went into college saying, "I'm not going to go in as a Christian"
[01:02.25] Like, I believe, I believe God is real
[01:04.99] But I'm just going to put that off 'til later
[01:07.48] Because I want to go see what the world has to offer me
[01:11.11] You know, I want to go have fun
[01:12.55] I want to go do what everyone else is doing that I felt like I couldn't
[01:16.30] And um, so that whole year I just, I just let loose
[01:20.94] And uh, I did everything that I wanted to and um
[01:26.96] I led myself down a path of destruction
[01:30.66] Every single decision that I made for myself led me
[01:34.04] Not only nowhere, but led me just to the end of myself
[01:38.42] And so I woke up my sophomore year, just completely broken, fully insecure
[01:44.10] I mean, I was not full of joy
[01:46.88] It's laughable if you see me now versus who I was back then
[01:54.52] I was not the same person
[01:56.19] It's hard to even look back at pictures of myself
[01:58.81] The facial expressions I'm making, that's just that's not me
[02:02.66] And um, in that lowest, lowest point, I was sitting at this coffee shop
[02:08.65] And uh, I heard this gentle voice in my head
[02:12.51] And it was telling me to go to a church service
[02:16.44] And uh
[02:20.17] I tried everything, and you know, "Alright, I'll see it through"
[02:25.52] So I googled where to go to church
[02:29.96] And I saw this church service had a Wednesday night service for, like a college ministry
[02:34.20] And so I showed up like an hour late to that, and um
[02:40.00] I walked out; the parking lot was empty, the foyer was empty everything and
[02:44.19] I opened up the doors, and just this, I walked into this rich aroma of worship, really
[02:51.56] It was like this spirit-filled thing where like the whole church had fasted for three days
[02:57.54] And they were doing this like an extended six-hour worship, and I walked right in the middle of that
[03:01.67] And uh, I just remember walking through the doors, and being like
[03:04.67] "Man, I feel lighter already"
[03:07.09] Like, I feel like, you know, I feel like this baggage left me
[03:10.00] And then, I walked into the sanctuary
[03:15.66] I can’t explain, I can't, I can't explain it, but I encountered Jesus
[03:20.37] I encountered the Holy Spirit, and uh, yeah, amen
[03:24.50]
[03:33.67] Yeah, I mean, just to pause there
[03:36.50] It's like the spiritual realm is so interesting because
[03:40.51] We can't see, we can't see Him, but He is a person
[03:46.37] And uh, so, yeah, I walked into that room, and I met a person
[03:50.94] I spoke to a person, I was held by a person
[03:54.58] I was breathed life into by a person, and uh
[03:59.00] See, I got on my knees, and I cried out to Jesus
[04:01.75] I said, “Jesus, I'm, I'm sick and tired of living life for myself"
[04:05.37] "I'm sick and tired of the decisions I'm making"
[04:07.47] "I want you to come into my life"
[04:09.90] "I want you to make me a new person"
[04:11.08] "I'm living my life for you"
[04:12.27] "Whatever, whatever this is, whatever I just found"
[04:15.89] "I found home, I found life, I found"
[04:17.71] Uh, amen
[04:19.80]
[04:25.92] And um,
[04:28.84] "Yeah, Lord, you know, take all my stuff, take my career, take my house"
[04:34.89] "Whatever, but just give me Jesus"
[04:36.59] I'm telling y'all, it's, um
[04:42.05] He's been so good, and uh, here I am, I mean, I'm whatever, eight years or so
[04:48.51] Into my walk with- my true walk with the Lord
[04:51.92] And I'm telling you from the bottom of my heart
[04:53.87] It is the only way, it's the only source of life
[04:56.16] Jesus is the only source of life
[04:57.86]
[05:03.99] Everything else fails, and I just think it's so powerful
[05:08.68] I can't believe that my grandad–I found that video of him on YouTube
[05:14.00] I didn't even realise, it's just crazy, so
[05:18.50] Yeah, he's like ninety-three now, and I ask him
[05:22.12] "Grandad, what's the, what's the meaning of life"
[05:25.92] You know, when you look back on your life, it's a pretty heavy conversation
[05:30.70] He handles it lightly; he's just like, I really were to spend more time with Jesus
[05:36.58] Which is crazy 'cause he's about to you know, be spending more time with Jesus
[05:41.04] And he's saying on earth, "Hey, I wish I would've spent more time with Jesus"
[05:44.64] So, yeah, if, uh, if I could summarise all that into two words
[05:53.88] It would be 'don't wait'
[05:55.38]
[06:01.72] Because Jesus is coming back soon
[06:13.54] And when He comes back, are you going to go with Him, or are you going to stay here?
[06:25.57] And I just, I know some–at least one person out there has that same burning in their chest that I had
[06:34.10] And I just want to let you know
[06:36.06] Maybe you're resisting Jesus because you think you're too full of shame
[06:41.01] You've done too many things; there's no way Jesus could love me
[06:44.57] There's no way; I've done so many things I can't speak on
[06:48.43] The Bible says that while we were still sinners, He died for us
[06:52.96] And it says that there is nothing that we could ever do to separate His love from us
[06:58.07] So there's no
[07:01.96] There's no sin too great that He didn't die for
[07:05.54] That is why He died; He came to die for our sin
[07:10.97] And the Bible also says that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
[07:15.59] And believe in your heart that He died and rose again you will be saved
[07:23.01] So, in your heart right now, if that's you, if you're feeling that burning, just say
[07:26.41] "Lord, I ask that you would–Jesus, would you come into my heart?"
[07:29.78] "Would you make me a new person?"
[07:31.37] "Would you lift the veil from my eyes?"
[07:33.88] "When I read scripture, would you enlighten it, Lord?"
[07:39.91] "Holy Spirit, make me a new person"
[07:44.12] "I believe that you died and rose again for my sins"
[07:51.46] "In Jesus name, Amen."
