Mx. Sinister was released on June 11, 2021, though it was being performed live by the band as early as 2017. The lyrics are from the point of view of someone obsessed with another person to the point of stalking them. Originally titled Mr. Sinister, frontman Dallon Weekes changed the name after explaining that he wished he, "would’ve titled it differently, because there are no gendered pronouns within the song. I think the title kind of screwed that up. .
