[00:04.59] She's been through a lot
[00:07.36] Years and years on end, she chose to keep on
[00:09.78] To hold on to love, then to love again

[00:14.22] To hug black bodies like it's the last time
[00:16.22] Like, last time every time
[00:20.27] To bear baby after baby
[00:21.56] Praying this time maybe they'll be birthed into safety
[00:24.24] Ideally a place where someone can love them
[00:29.26] Hoping this time, we can trust each other enough to tell one another our fears
[00:33.01] I might start by saying, "I need you"
[00:36.77] When you go, I'm afraid to let you
[00:38.39] I don't wanna survive alone again
[00:42.16] Our bodies have become too familiar
[00:45.15] With chance, with each other, with freedom
[00:50.33] But never a chance to experience freedom with each other these days
[00:54.04] I'm tired of sharing your body between the world and me
[00:58.50] So, won't you promise this time, your body will make it home to me
[01:03.58] To this love, to this unity
[01:07.94] To this journey we're supposed to be on together

[01:41.68] Nobody tells you how to survive as a black woman
[01:46.71] So let me learn you a lesson
[01:51.46] Black women, you are a threat on every point of the map
[02:01.15] You are love, in its purest form, all unapologetic, all unconditional
[02:07.86] Always too compassionate, sometimes too forgiving
[02:14.82] But, never too afraid to show up
[02:24.95] Black women, you are everything they knew you wouldn't be
[02:34.83] You are gorgeous, even through the suffering
[02:43.42] You needn't forget why
