About Waters of Ain

“Ain” is the nothing/all which was before the world came into being. The term is derived from Jewish mysticism where it’s called “Ain Sof” (‘No End’). Erik Danielsson has described it as his "funeral song" and as "my first attempt to express my love towards death and departure in general and to try to sum up my feelings for it." Lead guitar by Selim Lemouchi and additional vocals by Carl McCoy. .

Waters of Ain Lyrics

[01:25.33] Take me home
[01:28.61] Ye beckoning ocean waves!
[01:33.46] My vessel is prepared
[01:38.29] Eagerly, my spirit yearns
[01:44.07] Through the gates, Transylvania calls
[02:02.39] Anointed am I
[02:04.94] Exalted on a course to man averse
[02:09.30] Cloven-hooved my footsteps be
[02:13.91] The self withdrawn
[02:16.69] Expanding as the rays of death illuminate
[02:23.01] The bridge and the path to the waters of Ain
[02:28.62] Where no corner's define
[02:32.40] To the waters of Ain
[02:34.63] Where no circles confine
[02:37.95] To the waters of Ain
[02:43.60] To the twilight of time
[02:46.22] To the Death
[02:48.45]
[03:12.22] To unmask the featureless face and know its numbing beatuy
[03:24.35] To remove the fig leaf from her cunt and enter
[03:36.42] Beyond!
[03:49.36] To pluck the fruits forbidden
[03:50.80] Ye grapes most ripe, ye blessings of the underworld
[04:00.49] Unleash your bitter rivers
[04:03.05] Burn this tongue of mine
[04:06.48] Oh wormwood sweet
[04:09.29] Damnation's infernal wine
[04:24.85] From the waters of Ain
[04:27.25] Where no corner's define
[04:30.54] From the waters of Ain
[04:32.84] Where no circles confine
[04:36.15] Flow, ye waters of Ain
[04:42.48] As wormwood and wine
[04:44.94] To the Death!
[04:48.22]
[05:57.01] Their waters as one water in a stream against all streams
[06:08.57] Sweet and salt now intermingle in the waking veins of Kingu
[06:21.72] The havens tower in the yonder now
[06:25.82] Where my vessel shall set sail
[06:32.54] A voyage without end across the ageless waters
[06:38.46] To shine
[06:41.27] Beyond!
[06:45.39] Do not mistake me for a star
[06:50.48] Though I'll shine like them at night
[06:56.62] But behold instead the darkness in between them
[07:06.32] The Devil's light
[07:10.19]
[07:59.08] Fearless I tread at the outpost
[08:04.68] The brilliant abode of the dark
[08:10.60] At the bridge from the known to the great unseen
[08:20.60] I shall not linger
[08:24.88]
[08:50.26] Saturh, great dark in the yonder
[08:55.93] I give you my soul to devour
[09:01.96] So that I may be judged in your deathlike glare
[09:08.32] And purified
[09:14.55] For thou art the wisdom's keeper
[09:20.35] The shoreline where truth shall unwind
[09:26.88] A truth that in life I am doomed to search
[09:35.57] But shall die to find
[09:40.02]
[10:03.56] So now, we must leave these shores
[10:10.27] Never to return
[10:15.56] And so I sets his sail
[10:18.72] Towards the setting sun at the end of the world
[10:27.71]
