About I'll Be Your Jonny on the Spot

"I'll Be Your Jonny on the Spot" was written and recorded in early 1996 at a rental house in New Hope, Pennsylvania, after Ween's previous rented beach house flooded. The unusual effect on the guitar solo was created by a ring modulator kit ("like a Radio Shack kit"), built for Dean Ween by his guitar tech. Dean has said, "I’ve always been really proud of the solo on that song. It broke, and it was only used on that one song." Despite being released on 1997's The Mollusk .
