About Poet's Problem

"Poet's Problem" is a song by the American rock band Blondie written by keyboardist Jimmy Destri. In the track by track notes from the Against The Odds box set, Destri citied The Beatles’ lyricism as an influence when he was writing the song, specifically “Come Together”. The song was originally released as the B-side to the single "(I'm Always Touched By Your) Presence, Dear". It was later included as a bonus track on the 1994 and 2001 remasters .

Poet's Problem Lyrics

[00:06.84] Poet's problem, patron saint
[00:10.18] Puts me in the place I'm in
[00:13.30] Passion's letter, poison pen
[00:16.18] On these two things I can depend
[00:19.68] Who will write your number that's not up?
[00:26.15] I will not be there when you call
[00:32.04] I think I'll do a line and then again
[00:36.36]
[00:44.99] Dirty dealers, school of thought
[00:48.04] An armchair for the strength of thought
[00:51.01] The TV set's been on all night
[00:54.69] You were wrong and I was right
[00:58.05] You will write your number on the wall
[01:04.52] I will not be there when you call
[01:10.52] I think I'll do a line and then again
[01:15.35]
[01:41.84] Who will write your number that's not up?
[01:47.98] I will not be there when you call
[01:54.34] You will write your number on the wall
[02:00.58] I will not be there when you call
[02:06.44] I think I'll do a line and then again
[02:11.34]
