About You'll Never Walk Alone
"You'll Never Walk Alone" is a show tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Carousel. In the musical, in the second act, Nettie Fowler, the cousin of the female protagonist Julie Jordan, sings "You'll Never Walk Alone" to comfort and encourage Julie when her husband, Billy Bigelow, the male lead, has killed himself after a failed robbery. It is reprised in the final scene to encourage a graduation class of which Louise (their daughter) is a member. .
You'll Never Walk Alone Lyrics
[00:00.20] When you walk through a storm
[00:07.72] Hold your head up high
[00:14.39] And don't be afraid of the dark
[00:23.53]
[00:26.66] At the end of a storm
[00:32.92] There's a golden sky
[00:39.23] And a sweet silver song of a lark
[00:51.95] Walk on through the wind
[00:58.30] Walk on through the rain
[01:04.51] Or your dreams be tossed and blown
[01:17.95] Walk on! Walk on! With hope in your heart
[01:30.10] And you'll never walk alone
[01:41.84] You'll never walk alone
[01:52.88]
[01:55.82] Walk on! Walk on! With hope in your heart
[02:08.68] And you'll never walk alone
[02:20.21] You'll never walk alone

[00:07.72] Hold your head up high
