About Ride Captain Ride
A true “One hit wonder” from the Tampa, Florida band Blues Image – reached No. 4 on the Billboard chart in 1970. The story behind the song – per its writer – The producer came in and said, “Do you have any more songs, because if you don’t, this is your last day in the studio, So I said, "Oh, I have a song,‘ which I didn’t. So I went into the bathroom, and I shut the door, and I just meditated. I calmed my mind, and I started hearing music. .
Ride Captain Ride Lyrics
[00:15.57] Seventy-three men sailed up
[00:18.69] From the San Francisco Bay
[00:23.82] Rolled off of their ship, and here's what they had to say
[00:30.99] "We're callin' everyone to ride along to another shore
[00:38.78] We can laugh our lives away and be free once more"
[00:45.96] But no one heard them callin'
[00:49.73] No one came at all
[00:54.63] 'Cause they were too busy watchin' those old raindrops fall
[01:02.14] As a storm was blowin' out on the peaceful sea
[01:09.97] Seventy-three men sailing off to history
[01:17.16] Ride, captain ride upon your mystery ship
[01:23.39] Be amazed at the friends you have here on your trip
[01:32.39] Ride captain ride upon your mystery ship
[01:37.94] On your way to a world that others might have missed
[01:44.40]
[02:03.86] Seventy-three men sailed up from the San Francisco Bay
[02:11.61] Got off the ship, and here's what they had to say
[02:19.08] "We're callin' everyone to ride along to another shore
[02:26.48] We can laugh our lives away and be free once more"
[02:33.91] Ride, captain ride upon your mystery ship
[02:40.68] Be amazed at the friends you have here on your trip
[02:49.01] Ride captain ride upon your mystery ship
[02:54.96] On your way to a world that others might have missed
