Solita was released on December 4th, 2019 as the lead single for Kali Uchis' then-unnamed Spanish language sophomore album. The song never appeared on the album though and '¡aquí yo mando!' with Rico Nasty was released as the new lead single in August 2020. Uchis would describe 'Solita' as 'sad, yet horny' in an interview with Apple Music. Lyrically the song discusses a failed relationship where she was cheated on and left alone, although Uchis .
