The People Lyrics
[00:10.97] Yeah, this for the people
[00:14.60] This is street ra-dio, for unsung hero
[00:17.45] Ridin' in they regal, tryin' to stay legal
[00:19.85] My daughter found Nemo, I found the new primo
[00:22.55] Ye' you know how we do, we do it for the people
[00:25.07] And the struggles of the brothers and the folks
[00:27.27] With lovers under dope, experiment to discover hopes
[00:30.14] Scuffle for notes, the rougher I wrote, times was harder
[00:33.17] Went from rocky starter to the voice of a martyr
[00:35.68] While white folk focus on dogs and yoga
[00:38.28] My people on the low end tryin' to ball and get over
[00:40.73] Lyrics are like liquor for the fallen soldiers
[00:43.03] From the bounce to the ounce, it's all our culture
[00:45.88] Everyday we hustlin', tryin' to get them custom rims
[00:48.56] Law we ain't trustin' them, thick broads we lustin' them
[00:51.32] Sick and tired of punchin' it, I look on the bus at them
[00:53.57] When I see 'em strugglin', I think how I'm touchin' them
[00:56.22] The days, have come (It's about the people)
[01:01.36] Now we, are one (It's about the people)
[01:06.31] Just take, your time (It's about the people)
[01:11.47] And then, you'll find (It's about the people)
[01:16.83] This is street ra-dio, for unsung hero
[01:19.66] Ridin' in they regal, tryin' to stay legal
[01:22.26] My daughter found Nemo, I found the new primo
[01:24.71] Ye' you know how we do, we do it for the people
[01:27.69] The people said that I was sharp on TV
[01:29.83] At the Grammy's, though they tried to India Arie me
[01:32.52] Got back stage, and I bumped into Stevie
[01:35.17] He said no matter what, the people gon' see me
[01:37.72] Can't leave rap alone, the streets need me
[01:40.73] Hunger in they eyes, is what seems to feed me
[01:43.24] Inside peace mixed with beef seem to breed me
[01:45.83] Nobody believe, until I believe me
[01:48.39] Now I'm on the rise doin' business with my guys
[01:50.99] Visions realize, music affected lives
[01:53.29] A gift from the skies, to be recognized
[01:55.76] I'm keeping my eyes on the people, that's the prize
[01:58.36] The days, have come (It's about the people)
[02:03.33] Now we, are one (It's about the people)
[02:08.45] Just take, your time (It's about the people)
[02:13.54] And then, you'll find (It's about the people)
[02:18.93] This is street ra-dio, for unsung hero
[02:21.68] Ridin' in they regal, tryin' to stay legal
[02:24.38] My daughter found Nemo, I found the new primo
[02:26.80] Ye' you know how we do, we do it for the people
[02:29.54] From Englewood to a single hood in Botswana
[02:32.10] I see the I in We, yours is my drama
[02:34.67] Standin' in front of the judge with no honor
[02:37.36] My raps ignite the people like Obama
[02:39.98] The karma of the streets is needs and takes
[02:42.37] Sometimes we find peace in beats and breaks
[02:45.03] Put the bang in the back so the seats can shake
[02:47.50] Rebel Cadillac music for the people's sake
[02:50.33] The People
