Everything's Gonna Be Alright Lyrics
[00:05.39] Nurse Johnson, is the mother still in the recovery room?
[00:07.93] Yes, Dr. Blair
[00:10.06] Okay, I'll go to the waitin' room and inform the father it's a boy
[00:13.44] I'm afraid there is no father, sir
[00:16.09] Another ghetto bastard, huh?
[00:17.93] I'm afraid so
[00:19.62] Well, put him with the rest of the born losers
[00:22.04] All right doctor, a shame isn't it?
[00:24.90] Not a shame, a problem
[00:26.89] (Dr. Blair, Dr. Blair, Dr. J. Hamilton, Dr. J. Hamilton)
[00:31.80]
[00:44.68] Smooth it out (alright)
[00:47.02] This is a story about the drifter
[00:48.93] Who waited for the worst, 'cause the best lived 'cross town
[00:51.92] Who never planned on having, so didn't
[00:54.21] Why me, huh?
[00:55.49] Everything's gonna be alright (alright)
[00:57.82] Everything's gonna be alright (alright)
[01:00.43] Everything's gonna be alright now (alright)
[01:02.48] Everything's gonna be alright (alright)
[01:04.75] Some get a little and some get none
[01:06.63] Some catch a bad one and some leave the job half done
[01:09.22] I was one who never had and always mad
[01:11.88] Never knew my dad, motherfuck the fag
[01:14.20] Well, anyway, I did pickups, lift-and-click-ups
[01:16.70] Seen many stick-ups, 'cause niggas had the trigger hiccups
[01:19.03] I couldn't get a job, nappy hair was not allowed
[01:21.56] My mother couldn't afford us all, she had to throw me out
[01:23.66] I walked the strip with just a clip, who want a hit?
[01:25.89] They got 'em quick, I had to eat, this money's good as spent
[01:28.42] I threw in braids, I wasn't paid enough
[01:30.78] I kept 'em long 'cause I couldn't afford a haircut
[01:33.28] I got laughed at, I got chumped, I got dissed
[01:35.66] I got upset, I got a TEC and a banana clip
[01:37.83] Was down to throw the lead to any telling tackhead
[01:40.13] I still'd been broke, so a lot of good it woulda did
[01:42.64] Or done, if not for bad luck, I would have none
[01:45.27] Why did I have to live a life of such a bad one?
[01:47.35] Why when I was a kid and played, I was a sad one?
[01:49.79] And always wanted to live like this or that one
[01:52.48] Everything's gonna be alright (alright)
[01:54.63] Everything's gonna be alright (alright)
[01:56.96] Everything's gonna be alright now (alright)
[01:59.30] Everything's gonna be alright (alright)
[02:01.07] A ghetto bastard, born next to the projects
[02:03.18] Living in the slums with bums, I said, "Now why, Treach
[02:05.22] Do I have to be like this?" Mama said I'm priceless
[02:07.97] So why am I worthless? Starving is just what being nice get
[02:10.80] Sometimes I wish I could afford a pistol then, though
[02:13.35] To stop the hell, I would've ended things a while ago
[02:15.64] I ain't have jack but a black hat and knapsack
[02:17.95] War scars, stolen cars, and a blackjack (alright)
[02:20.27] Drop that, and now you want me to rap and give?
[02:22.87] Say something positive? Well, positive ain't where I live
[02:25.04] I live right around the corner from West Hell
[02:27.18] Two blocks from South Shit and once in a jail cell
[02:29.87] The sun never shone on my side of the street, see
[02:32.19] And only once or twice a week, I would speak
[02:34.73] I walked alone, my state of mind was home sweet home
[02:36.84] I couldn't keep a girl, they wanted kids with cars of chrome
[02:39.28] Some life, if you ain't wear gold, your style was old
[02:41.67] And you got more juice than dope for every bottle sold
[02:44.02] Hell no, I say there's gotta be a better way
[02:46.47] But hey, never gamble in a game that you can't play
[02:48.32] I'm slowin' and flowin' and goin', knowin' no one and not now
[02:50.76] How will I do it? How will I make it? I won't, that's how
[02:57.20] Why me, huh?
[02:58.27] Everything's gonna be alright (alright)
[03:00.63] Everything's gonna be alright (alright)
[03:03.06] Everything's gonna be alright now (alright)
[03:05.46] Everything's gonna be alright (alright)
[03:11.71] My third year into adulthood, and still a knucklehead
[03:14.79] I'm better off dead, huh, that's what my neighbor said
[03:17.13] I don't do jack but fightin', lightin' up the streets at night
[03:19.32] Playing hide-and-seek with a machete, sexing Freddy's wife (alright)
[03:21.67] Some say I'm rolling on, nothing but a dog now
[03:24.02] I answer that with a "Fuck you", and a bow-wow
[03:26.43] 'Cause I done been through more shit within the last week
[03:28.84] Than a fly flowin' in doo-doo on the concrete
[03:31.33] I been a deadbeat, dead to the world and dead wrong
[03:33.79] Since I was born that's my life, oh, you don't know this song?
[03:36.09] So don't say jack, and please don't say you understand
[03:38.29] All that man-to-man talk can walk, damn
[03:40.66] If you ain't live it, you couldn't feel it, so kill it, skillet
[03:43.06] And all that talk about it won't help it out, now, will it?
[03:45.43] In Illtown, pure luck got stuck-up, props got shot
[03:47.64] Don't worry, I hit by a flurry, and his punk-ass dropped
[03:50.24] But I'm the one who has been labeled as an outcast
[03:52.32] They teach in schools I'm the misfit y'all will outlast
[03:54.87] But that's cool with the bull, smack 'em backwards
[03:57.28] That's what you get for fuckin' with a ghetto bastard
[03:59.60] If you ain't ever been to the ghetto
[04:02.24] Don't ever come to the ghetto
[04:04.10] 'Cause you wouldn't understand the ghetto
[04:06.27] And stay the fuck out of the ghetto
[04:08.66] (Alright)
[04:12.68] Why me? (Alright)
[04:17.38] Why me?
[04:18.43]
[04:32.13] (Alright)
[04:34.51] (Alright)
