About The Infection

This song is about vocalist David Draiman’s battle with depression. He described the depression as something that feels like it’s “eating away inside you”. During the touring cycle for Indestructible his wife left him, he got stabbed in the back by his best friend and his beloved dog had to be put to sleep. These events inspired the lyrics for “Asylum”, “The Infection” and “Crucified”. .
